Definitions for General Efforts listed under Track Volunteer In-Direct Services
All of the services listed below are General Efforts. As such, they are not tied to any Participant Records.
1. Volunteer On-Call: Volunteer time spent on-call. Excludes time where actual Direct Services were provided.
Example: Volunteer spent 300 minutes answering agency’s hotline during an overnight shift. A total of 60 minutes was spent providing Direct Service. The remaining time 240 minutes is recorded as Volunteer On-Call.
Note: This does not include on-call time for staff members.
2. Shelter Coverage: Time spent providing volunteer shelter coverage that excludes time where actual Direct Services were provided.
Example: 8 hours (480 minutes) spent at shelter while residents were asleep.
3. Board Meetings/Committees: Participation in any Board Meetings attended by a Board Member, who is viewed as a Volunteer of the agency; and/or participation in any committees by a Volunteer representative of the agency. Can include internal and external meetings.
4. Fundraising Activities: Time spent by the Board Member/Volunteer who is engaging in events/phone calls/mailings, etc. for the sole purpose of gaining financial support for the agency.
5. Education Prevention/Awareness Activities: Time spent by the Volunteer to create awareness about victimization and services available from the agency they are representing; this does not include any type of direct service such as crisis counseling or safety planning.
6. Administration Activities: Time spent by the volunteer completing administrative tasks for the agency, such as copying materials, stuffing envelopes or filing files.
