Definitions for General Efforts listed under Systems Advocacy by Staff

The below table lists the type of events available for selection under this category as well as which funder report the selection will get mapped to.

1. Systems Advocacy: This includes activities relating to developing relationships with community partners through personal contacts (either in person or on the telephone) made for the purpose of effecting policy and/or procedural change in order to improve a system's response to victims/survivors of violence.

  • Report the total number of personal contacts made each month and the total number of hours spent on those contacts. Be sure to report only the actual time spent on each contact; do not report preparation time or transportation time to and from the contact/meeting.

Note: This does not include Personal Advocacy on behalf of an individual participant.

2. Medical Systems Advocacy: This includes activities relating to developing relationships with hospital/healthcare-based or other healthcare related community partners through personal contacts (either in person or on the telephone) made for the purpose of effecting policy and/or procedural change in order to improve the health care system’s response to victims/survivors of violence.
