After creating a TouchPoint, you can create a second TouchPoint to be the child form.
These settings are found:
Navigation Bar > "Site Administration" > "Manage TouchPoints" in the Edit TouchPoint Settings.
Find the "Primary Forms" drop-down menu (located at the bottom of the TouchPoint Settings page) and select the Primary Form for the sub-form.
The Primary Form must be created before the sub-form can be created. If your TouchPoint is a sub-form, remember to set the TouchPoint security settings identical to the primary form. Frequently, issues with completion of sub forms result because of security settings being different in the primary form.
โ
Once selected, Users will have the option to add locking options for the sub and primary form.
Inherit the locking rules of the primary form.
When [X] responses have been taken for the sub form, lock the primary form.
Any changes made to locking rules on the sub or primary form will require an overnight to sync. Therefore, if you need to unlock responses, you can turn this setting off and wait one night until the responses are available.
Limitations: The Primary and Sub (or Child) Form relationship is one that will not function on an Enterprise scale.
The Primary form is created in Site A and the Child forms are typically taken in the same Site/Program.
Because the sub forms are accessed from the Primary Form's Dashboard, the location of the Dashboard is important. When the Primary form Dashboard lives in Site A, Users that do not have access to Site A cannot access the Dashboard. Therefore, Users cannot take associated sub-forms.
The Users may see the primary form on the View Participant TouchPoint screen if it is set to Share Across Enterprise. However, they will not be able to access the Dashboard to take sub-forms.
If a Participant moves from Site A to Site B it is best practice to create a new primary form specific to the Site so that Users without permissions to access Site A may take appropriate sub-forms.
