PCCD - Introduction to ETO Software
Updated over a week ago

ETO Hierarchical Structure

ETO Software has been engineered to support a hierarchical data gathering and reporting structure. Levels include: Enterprise, Site, and Program.

Enterprise Level:

Comprised of all sites and the individual programs that are included within each site. Your site is part of the PCCD Enterprise.

Site Level:

Each victim service agency exists as a separate “site” within the Enterprise.

Program Level:

Each victim service agency’s ETO site could have more than one program created to collect/organize data. The two programs that are standard in every site are VSP Case Management and Survey.

Survey:

This is the program used to enter Empowerment & Satisfaction

Questionnaire (ESQ-LF) data.

Browser Support and Compatibility

Overview

Historically, ETO software has been supported only in Internet Explorer (IE) on a computer with a valid version of Windows. The original code ETO was written in is not compatible with browsers other than IE. Our developers have been working very hard to rewrite a number of pages to allow our customers to use ETO on other browsers and on other operating systems, but it is a tremendous undertaking! Browser neutrality is something we strive for with each release and update to existing features. Please bear with us as we work toward making more and more features browser neutral as it will take some time before other browsers are fully supported.

We will keep this page up-to-date about what pages we currently support in which browsers. As information is available from our product team, this page will be updated. Please check back often!

Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer is the target browser for ETO software. Over 90% of ETO users are using IE and it therefore gets the most attention during testing. A few items to note:

  • IE11 - fully supported (out of compatibility mode) with four exceptions: Editing home pages, some functions of Query Wizard, viewing Crystal Reports, and using the properties of an ETO Results Report (to rename it or get the ID number of the report) require using compatibility mode.

  • IE10 - fully supported (out of compatibility mode)

  • IE9 - no longer supported

  • IE8 - no longer supported

  • IE7 - no longer supported

  • IE6 - no longer supported

Note: Some add-on products such as ETO Portal rely on technology only available in IE11 or Safari/Chrome.

Safari

ETO software is also supported in Safari (iOS, including the iPad) for the following features:

  • Add New Participant

  • View/Edit Participant (except the links to non-supported pages located at the bottom of the page)

  • Participant Program History

  • Add New Household

  • Duplicated Participants

  • Add New Entity

  • View/Edit Entity

  • Quick Search (except the Quick Links/Drop Down Links to non-supported pages)

  • Dashboards (except the links to non-supported pages)

  • Recording, Viewing, Editing and Deleting TouchPoints (accessed from Quick Search Quick Links, Dashboard Parts, or the Navigation Bar)

  • Adding, Viewing, Editing and Deleting Collections (accessed from Dashboard Parts or the Navigation Bar)

  • Review Participant/Entity/Staff Efforts (NEW)

  • ETO Insight features

  • View Reports (NEW)

  • Manage TouchPoints and Manage Collection Types

  • Who Is On

  • Manage Add Participant/Family

  • Manage Staff Accounts

  • Add/Edit Demographic (including data entry on Add New Participant, View/Edit Participant; Manage Demographics, Demographics Wizard; Reorder Demographics is not supported at this time; file attachment demographics are not supported)

Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and Other Browsers

While ETO software may work in other browsers, Social Solutions does not currently support their use. This means that if a defect or other issue is found, it will be a low priority item to address. However, Social Solutions is committed to expanding browser support with each new release.

Please note that some legacy features will never be supported in browsers other than IE, including:

  • Assessments (recording, editing, or managing)

  • Efforts/Points of Service (recording, editing, or editing)

  • Query Wizard (building, editing, running, or managing)

Page Navigation: ETO Software is a secure website; signing into ETO is the same as signing into an online bank account or making a secure purchase online. Therefore logging out of ETO properly is very important to ensure the security of your data.

NOTE: Never use the back and forward button in Internet Explorer while navigating through ETO. Always use the navigation links found within ETO.

Inactivity: There is an automatic log-out time associated with ETO Software after a period of inactivity. After 60 minutes of inactivity you will be logged off and the software will NOT save your work. You will receive a 5 minute warning message before being logged out. Always be sure to submit the information you are working on and log off properly before leaving your computer.
