Definitions for General Efforts Trainings Received by Agency

The below table lists the type of Training activities available for selection under this category, as well as, which funder report the selection will get mapped to.

  1. Agency Orientation: This consists of the 8 hour orientation provided to new staff/volunteers/interns when first beginning to work at the agency. This orientation includes history of the agency, policy and procedures, and confidentiality.

  2. Foundational Academy: This consists of the 32 hour specialized training provided to all new advocates which introduces core concepts to working with victims of crime.

  3. KCIT: The successful completion of the Keystone Crisis Intervention Team training, to be able to provide immediate on-scene crisis response to victims of crime.

  4. Victims’ Compensation Assistance: Any of the online or in-person trainings provided by PCCD that explains Crime Victims Compensation, filing a claim, or DAVE training.

  5. DV Counselor/Advocate Training: Consists of a minimum of 45 hours of training for direct service staff and/or volunteers, which includes at least 40 hours of didactics and a minimum of five (5) hours of supervised practicum experience working with a trained volunteer or staff person. Record for each new staff or volunteer upon the completion of the training.

  6. SA Counselor/Advocate Training: Consists of a minimum of 40 hours of training for direct service staff and/or volunteers. Conducted for the purpose of meeting statutory requirements and follows a PCAR approved syllabus. Record for each new staff or volunteer upon the completion of the training.

  7. DV/SA Counselor Advocate Training: Consists of the minimum requirements established by both PCAR and PCADV. Record for each new staff or volunteer upon the completion of the training.
